چکیده

Methods We measured intraoperative grafts flowmetry in three patients with important retrograde flow from the coronary arteries throught saphenous vein grafts, verified after distal anastomosis. The surgeries were performed off pump. After the revascularization was completed, in the intraoperative model, we partially clamped the aorta, including both proximal veins anastomosis, and measured the flowmetry from one graft to the other. We verified the flow from vein to vein, with good myocardial perfusion.

Major Leg Wound Complications After Saphenous Vein Harvest for Coronary Revascularization

Background: Major leg wound complications after coronary artery bypass graft procedures are infrequent and few are reported in the litrature. We present our experience in treating 30 patients with major leg wound complications after coronary revascularization procedures. Materials and Methods: A retrospective review of 2100 bypass procedures with saphenous veingraft performed over a 5-years p...

Routine intraoperative angiography improves the early patency of coronary grafts performed on the beating heart.

OBJECTIVES The techniques of performing coronary revascularization without cardiopulmonary bypass are rapidly evolving. However, concern remains regarding the accuracy of coronary artery anastomoses performed on the beating heart. This report reviews the use of intraoperative angiography in the critical appraisal of "off-pump" coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. PATIENTS Intraoperati...

Intraoperative transfection of vein grafts with the NFkappaB decoy in a canine aortocoronary bypass model: a strategy to attenuate intimal hyperplasia.

BACKGROUND The nuclear transcriptional factor NFkappaB is reported to play an important role in the expression of genes for neutrophil and macrophage chemotactic factors, adhesion molecules, and cell cycle-regulating proteins. In aortocoronary bypass surgery, the saphenous vein often develops vein graft disease. Here, we investigated whether transfection of a cis element decoy oligodeoxynucleot...

Association between paraoxonase activity and late saphenous vein graft occlusion in patients with coronary artery bypass grafting.

BACKGROUND Coronary vein graft disease is an important contributor to the morbidity after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Late occlusion of the graft is a serious complication that limits the use of the saphenous vein as a coronary bypass conduit. It is frequently encountered in old, degenerated vein grafts with advanced atherosclerotic plaque formation. Paraoxonase-1 (PON-1) is an HDL-...

Correlation of platelet survival time with occlusion of saphenous vein aorto-coronary bypass grafts.

Platelet survival time is frequently shortened in patients with coronary artery disease, and it is one of several factors that might contribute to graft occlusion after saphenous vein coronary artery bypass (CAB). In 35 patients with CAB, average platelet survival (autologous labeling with 51Chromium) was shortened in 20 with one or more saphenous vein grafts occluded and normal in 15 with all ...
